The Dyers Company Housing Association, Leeds

In its role as a charitable institution, the Company made a futher contribution to meeting housing needs when, in co-operation with the University of Leeds, it formed a Housing Association in 1966. It is a non-profit making organisation with the initial finance to purchase the flats supplied by the Dyers at a low rate of interest. The property is managed by staff from the University under the supervision of a Management Committee comprising members of both the Company and the University.

The Property consists of a three-storey building divided into 18, two-bedroom, centrally-heated flats in a pleasant area of Leeds about a mile from the University. The flats offer good quality, low-cost accommodation to tenants of modest income who are retired or nearing retirement and have a housing need. Some, but not all, of the current tenants have connections with either the University or the Colouration industry. Because of their pleasant nature and good value, the flats do not often become vacant, but the Secretary of the Association is prepared to put names on a waiting list. The address to write to is:
